From Araçuaí, Minas Gerais, Brazil, this mineral association illustrates the diversity of local granitic pegmatites. Albite is a sodium-rich plagioclase feldspar with the formula NaAlSi₃O₈, triclinic crystal system and Mohs hardness of 6–6.5. Its white appearance and vitreous-to-pearly luster provide a natural contrast to the pink nodules. Rubellite is the gemological name for pink-to-red Tourmaline, a boron-bearing cyclosilicate group mineral with a Mohs hardness of 7–7.5; manganese may contribute to its color. The preserved mineral association gives each piece a distinctive geological character.
