ORIGIN & THE SCIENCE OF BEAUTY
Sourced from Lithuania, on the Baltic Sea, Succinite is an organic gemstone produced as ancient plant resins fossilized and matured over tens of millions of years. Unlike crystalline minerals, Amber is an amorphous mineraloid: it has neither a crystal lattice nor a single fixed chemical formula.
Its honey-orange hues, resinous luster and partial translucency reveal natural inclusions that preserve traces of ancient environments. Its low density makes it remarkably light. Its ability to develop an electric charge through friction was recognized in antiquity and inspired the Greek word “elektron”. Individual inclusions should not be identified as animal or plant fossils without closer examination.
