Verdelite is the green variety of Elbaite Tourmaline, a boron, aluminum, sodium, and lithium cyclosilicate that crystallizes in the trigonal system. Its crystals typically exhibit an elongated prismatic habit, longitudinal striations, vitreous luster, and hues ranging from green to dark green.

This Grade A specimen stands out for its dark green color, translucent clarity, and a matrix content of between 25% and 50%. Its strong pleochroism allows for the perception of different tones depending on the viewing angle, shifting from deep green to lighter green. Originating from the granitic pegmatites of the Eastern Pegmatite Province (Araçuaí region, Minas Gerais, Brazil), it bears a geological history linked to the Brasiliano cycle, dating back approximately 600 to 480 million years.
