ORIGIN & THE SCIENCE OF BEAUTY

Watermelon Tourmaline is an Elbaite, a cyclosilicate rich in boron, aluminum, sodium, and lithium, formed mainly in granitic pegmatites. Its color zoning records chemical changes during crystal growth: manganese favors pink hues, while chromium and vanadium may contribute to green tones. In this specimen, the color sequence is inverted compared with the usual pattern, a feature described in the source material as rare. The Tourmaline comes from the Eastern Pegmatite Province – Lithium Valley – Araçuaí, Minas Gerais, Brazil, a renowned region for fine Tourmalines.

Peridot is the gem variety of Olivine, a magnesium-iron nesosilicate, (Mg,Fe)₂SiO₄, crystallizing in the orthorhombic system.
