Sourced from Macarani, Bahia, Brazil, Amazonite is the green to blue-green variety of microcline, a feldspar mineral with the formula KAlSi₃O₈ and a triclinic crystal structure. It occurs in geological settings including granitic pegmatites. Its color is linked to color centers involving trace lead and structural water, while pale patterns may reflect natural feldspar textures.
This mineral displays vitreous to pearly luster and a Mohs hardness of 6 to 6.5. Grade A “in natura” is LAZZERINI-GEOJOIAS’ own selection category, referring to attractive green-and-white color with less than 25% matrix; it is not a universal gem grading system.
