Golden Star Muscovite is a variety of Mica that crystallizes in the form of scales, sheets, or flakes (usually as a druse on a matrix). Its color comes from oxidized iron (in addition to silicon, aluminum, and potassium) and can vary in shades ranging from metallic gold to mustard yellow, with a pearly sheen. Its natural habit (form) occurs as a layered prism with straight terminations; in this Geojewel, rounded terminations – cylinders (a rarity) – are observed.
