LAZZERINI-GEOJOIAS, following modern concepts of jewelry in natural and handcrafted crystals, brings you another precious and characteristic natural gem from Brazil.
Here, in an exclusive Portuguese link necklace, with a handcrafted pendant in wirework (both plated in 18k gold) and containing a small druse of Pau D'Arco Amethyst Quartz crystals (33.8 ct), EXTRA gemological grade, prismatic with points, euhedral, hyaline, Lemurian and Elestial; in addition to inclusions of yellow Rutile. A rarity only found in the Pau D'Arco region – Pará/Tocantins – Brazil.
Quartz is a mineral composed of silicon dioxide (silica) and has several unique properties: peculiar geometry, anisotropy, chemical resistance, hardness, durability, crystalline structure, transparency, luster, diversity of colors, optical effects of Brilloon and Raman scattering, optically stimulated luminescence, dielectric constant, piezoelectricity (sensitive to pressure), pyroelectricity (sensitive to heat), elastic constants of great rigidity and resonance at the frequency of standing waves. The name Quartz comes from the Saxon word "querklufterz", which meant ore with transverse veins.
Amethyst is a variety of Quartz with almost identical physical properties, the main difference being its wide variety of purple colors ("50 Shades of Purple"): light, dark, deep Royal, velvety, grape, reddish, purple, lilac and pink. Its crystals grow slowly and the composition of the fluids that provide the Iron and Silica necessary for crystal growth can vary. The darkest color forms when the greatest amount of iron is incorporated into the growing crystal.
They often exhibit color zoning and pleochroism, with different colors depending on the angle, daylight, or artificial light.
Brazil is the world's largest producer of amethyst, as well as elestial and lemurian quartz.
This amethyst, called Pau D'Arco, due to the region of the same name located in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, on the border between Pará and Tocantins, is recognized for having a peculiar saturated purple color, a velvety grape hue, crystals with fissures, color zoning, euhedral to subhedral, inclusions of hematite, goethite, and reddish-brown to yellow rutile, a matrix containing feldspar and clays, and relatively high levels of Al, Ti, and Be. They originate from shear events and nearby magmatic hydrothermal processes.
Lemurian formations refer to a specific type of quartz crystal, often called "Lemurian Seed Crystal," which is distinguished by its ladder-like structure or horizontal striations on its alternating facets and a characteristic conical shape.
Elestial crystal is a type of quartz that has complex and unusual natural terminations on the body and faces of the stones. It frequently exhibits patterns of lines, depressions, and raised terminations (related to the quartz crystal structure) etched into its surface, as well as re-entrant formations. It displays a geometric pattern of "repetition" or multi-layering and looks like many small multifaceted crystals fused along the same plane. They may have a single large central termination with numerous smaller points arranged around it, creating a complex and otherworldly appearance. Internal hollow windows filled with natural clays or other minerals are also common. These growth characteristics arise from unstable conditions during the crystallization process. Their occurrence in Amethyst and Cyrino quartz is rarer.
Also known as Crocodile Quartz, Alligator Quartz, Fenster Quartz, or Skeletal Quartz; the origin of its name relates to the word celestial, and the prefix means "above the horizon." The most notable specimens are found mainly in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and in the Harts Mountains, Germany.
Symbolism and energetic traditions
The crystal is certainly one of the most talked about and well-known gemstones, and it carries with it traditions among almost all peoples. Considered by the ancients as ice or solidified water, especially by the Greeks, it has been commonly used in shamanic or religious systems for thousands of years. It is also known as the "Stone of Manifestation" and a "Master Healer" because it is one of the most powerful healing crystals on the planet.
The name Amethyst comes from the Greek term "amethystos" or "not drunk," where a famous legend tells that the young maiden named Amethyst was transformed into stone by the Goddess Artemis, and then this stone, which was transparent, was turned purple by the fury of Dionysus – God of Wine; who poured his sacred purple liquid over her. To ward off drunkenness, the ancient Greeks and Romans inlaid their cups with Amethyst. In Egypt, people used Amethyst amulets to pray and protect themselves against evil.
Recent studies at archaeological sites in the Serra dos Carajás region (Pará, Amazon, Brazil) reveal that quartz crystals (in various colors, including amethyst) were used in lithic production by human groups more than 11,700 years ago. Whether as utensils, weapons, socially referenced objects, or symbolic values (MAIA et al.; 2022).
Since the Middle Ages, amethyst was used by Catholic bishops as protection against "mystical drunkenness," and to this day it signifies ecclesiastical dignity as the "Bishop's Stone" and "Saint Valentine's Stone" of faithful love.
Full of legends and folklore, the prevalence of amethyst in ancient society is equally diverse and fascinating today.
Main metaphysical beliefs: symbolizes wisdom, deep love, devotion and peace of mind, balances emotional highs and lows, calms anxiety, amplifies creative vibrations, promotes mental health, protects against negative emotions (sadness, grief), grounding, improves intuition, reduces pain or stress, wards off drunkenness, promoting spiritual connection, higher consciousness and perception.
Zodiac: Pisces, Virgo, Aquarius and Capricorn. Chakras: Crown and Third Eye (Elestial). Birth: February.
Elestial Quartz is considered the "King of Crystals" because its frequency is believed to control the energy entering the body. This helps to achieve the ideal energy level for the body to function fully and comfortably. It is deeply rooted in ancient civilizations and their spiritual practices. It was used by ancient shamans and healers to connect with the divine and gain spiritual insights.
It is believed to be linked to the Akashic Records, a compendium of all human events past, present, and future. It has been revered for centuries for its profound metaphysical properties and its ability to access higher planes of consciousness. Transformative, it is widely used in meditations as it regulates the flow of energy, allowing you to choose which energy to accept or reject, and is ideal for dealing with "burnout" syndrome.
The name "Lemurian" comes from the belief that the crystals were "seeds" of knowledge left by the inhabitants of Lemuria for future generations. Legend suggests that ancient and enlightened civilizations used these Quartz crystals for healing and clairvoyance, storing their wisdom within them.
