RARE NATURAL TWINNED ANTASE CRYSTAL IN PENDANT & NECKLACE 18K GOLD PLATED
Exclusive Geojewelry LAZZERINI-GEOJOIAS
A rare crystal with an adamantine shine and futuristic aura. Anatase (TiO₂) is born in unique geological environments and, when it appears with a prismatic habit of gemological rarity, it becomes an object of desire for collectors and jewelers. In this Geojewel, it is the protagonist: a preserved natural twinned crystal, 6.2ct, in its original geometry and artistically wrapped in a fine wire pendant and accompanied by a Singapore necklace; plated in 18k gold. Minimalist luxury with a scientific signature.
Why this piece is unique
• True rarity: gem-quality Anatase is uncommon in jewelry; most specimens are found in mineral collections. They are geological rarities in dimensions larger than 2.0ct and even rarer when found in their complete natural forms.
• Brilliance and presence: adamantine to submetallic luster, intense reflections and subtle pleochroism that reveals nuances depending on the light. It has a high shine and clear shape, with small transparent portions when illuminated from behind.
• Author's design: fine detail setting, with a noble 18k straw gold plating (premium finish, high durability).
• Technical curation: selection and identification by a senior geologist-gemologist (42+ years) — authenticity and origin guaranteed in Brazil.
• Unique piece: each crystal presents its own micro-characteristics (striations, pyramidal faces, inclusion/matrix), making your gemstone unrepeatable.
The science behind the beauty
Also known as Octahedrite or Oisanite, Anatase derives from the Greek term anatasis, meaning "extension," in reference to the pyramidal faces of these crystals being longer than their base faces, particularly in comparison with other tetragonal minerals. Most anatase crystals are acute bipyramidal (or pyramidal) and striated. They can also be prismatic or tabular.
Anatase is found specifically in the form of tiny crystals and rarely with its perfect natural prismatic crystal habits. Brazil has the largest reserves of anatase in the world, with a focus on the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás.
It is one of the three natural polymorphs of titanium dioxide (along with rutile and brookite). It crystallizes in the tetragonal system, often in sharp-edged dipyramidal/prismatic forms. Properties that enchant: high refractive index (≈ 2.49–2.56) and high dispersion, responsible for the “fire” and striking brilliance; birefringence 0.046–0.073. Natural colors range from brown, reddish, honey, gray-black; metallic to sub-metallic luster; opaque to translucent — always with mineral character.
Anatase development occurs primarily in isolation from other minerals found at the time. As a result, it is mainly extracted in isolation and exhibits sharp edges. The sharpness of the mineral is due to its crystallization pattern. The presence of the mineral in certain geological environments can provide information about the history and processes of the Earth.
Peculiar natural properties
• The refractive indices of Anatase vary significantly based on wavelength and temperature.
• Anatase follows a tetragonal crystallization system, which creates more dimension in the molecular structure, resulting in comparative sharpness.
• The tetragonal alignment pattern ensures greater stability for Anatase. This means that, with temperature changes, Anatase does not undergo a rapid change in its shape, i.e., it is metastable across different temperature ranges. The same metastability property is demonstrated with pressure changes.
• Anatase has comparatively lower surface energy due to its greater stability. The stability of minerals is inversely proportional to their surface energy. The tetragonal arrangement of Anatase makes the molecule more stable and therefore reduces its overall surface energy.
• Well-known photocatalytic activity when exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light.
• Semiconductor properties suitable for use in solar cells, its ability to absorb UV light aligns well with the solar spectrum.
• Catalyst in chemical reactions, its surface reactivity is advantageous in promoting certain chemical transformations.
• High refractive index and birefringence.
• Some attribute the fascinating optical properties of Anatase to the idea of creating artificial gems such as cubic zirconia in the mid-20th century.
Meaning & Energy (Traditional)
Metaphysically speaking, Anatase is one of the most powerful crystals in the mineral kingdom. In the crystal tradition, Anatase is associated with the Air Element: focus, mental clarity, study, and communication. It is cited as a stone of applied wisdom, which favors learning, organization of thought, and active calm for decisions. On a subtle plane, many use it to protect the energy field and support creative/intellectual routines.
It enhances communication, wisdom, and tranquility. Above all, it is a powerful talisman for the astral realm. It enhances lucid dreams and assists in the recall of dreams and the most intimate memories. It is a very protective and indispensable stone in the metaphysical toolkit; it is associated with the air element, symbolizing inspiration, intellect, and exploration.
It is popular for its metaphysical and healing properties. Anatase helps keep you healthy and happy. It is a precious stone and can help you have a happy life. It helps to calm and balance emotions. The crystal also represents compassion, connection with the Earth, and the power of nature; highly valued in esotericism for its formation of one or two joined pyramids, a characteristic that gives it special and positive vibrations.
